MISSION

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to increase the participation of underrepresented groups (Women, Latinos, African-Americans, Native Americans, the LGBTQA community and persons with disabilities, etc.) in academia, industry, and government. ADSE supports, organizes, and oversees local, graduate student-run organizations that reach out to students and scientists of all ages and backgrounds.

We aim to connect scientists across the nation, showcase non-traditional career paths and underrepresented minority experiences in STEM, and educate students at all levels about opportunities in the sciences.

Team
BRINGING THE VISION TO LIFE

To push the goals in our mission statement, ADSE continues to develop in three specific ways:

PROVIDE MENTORSHIP, support, and leadership via a governing board for graduate student groups dedicated to diversifying the sciences.

HOST SYMPOSIA at national conferences to provide a network for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty.

SPONSOR A SEMINAR TOUR for young faculty to visit all of our chapters located around the US at top-tier universities.
